UOCAVA Election Notice for the March 15, 2016 Presidential Preference Primary in Beaufort County, NC is now available on our Website

The Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act or “UOCAVA” requires states to allow certain voters who are absent from their county of residence to have special rights that provide an expedited means for them to register and vote by mail-in absentee ballot. In order to qualify under the provisions of UOCAVA in this state, a voter must be a legal resident of North Carolina. Citizens covered by UOCAVA include:

Candidate filing for the 2016 Elections begins December 1st, 2015 at noon

2016 CANDIDATE FILING DATES

Filing Starts - Tuesday, December 1st, 2015 at 12:00 Noon

Filing Ends – Monday, December 21st, 2015 at 12:00 Noon

All filing fees must be made in the form of cash or personal check Filing Fees above $50 must be made in the form of a check and cannot be paid by a check from a business. Filing Fees can be seen by downloading the “2016 Filing Fees” file at the bottom of the page.

December 1st Regular Meeting Postponed to December 8th, 2015

The Beaufort County Board of Elections regularly scheduled meeting for the month of December has been postponed to December 8th at 5:00 pm at the Board of Elections Office at 1308 Highland Drive, Suite 104, Washington, NC, 27889.
